Wearing The Pants

by Jessica Sturdy on September 14, 2012

Yes, THE pants. The pants that I’ve been begging for and raving about for weeks!

It’s unfortunate that I hate the outfit I’m first showing off these pants with. Love the pants, hate the outfit and the pictures. Let me explain…

The dry cleaner/laundry mat on the corner opens at 7 am on the dot, each and every morning. I didn’t make it home before they closed the night before Lucky FABB, but I figured since I didn’t have to leave my apartment until 7:15am for FABB, I’d just pick up my shirt at 7am right before I left. Go figure, I stood outside waiting for them to open until 7:10 before I had to run back home and find a new outfit. I really wanted to wear my dark wash chambray shirt (seen here), but since it was being held hostage by the laundry mat, that wasn’t an option. I was pissed off, flustered, and scrambling so I just went with a different chambray shirt. I hate how the light wash of this chambray shirt blends with the pants. UGH.

Not to mention, we were then running late to Lucky FABB and didn’t have time to take pictures beforehand. Thus, wrinkly, baggy pants, worn-off makeup, and flat, humidity-ridden hair after sitting through a conference for 9 hours. The look was SO much better in the morning, I promise!

BUT, I have 1,000 other outfit ideas for these pants so stay tuned! The beige color makes them such a neutral so they really go with a ton in my closet. So don’t judge me too much for this outfit and these pictures, it was a rough go-round! Frumptastic.

Yep, repeated shoes during NYFW. I’m just breaking all of the rules with this post! :)

Madewell Chambray Shirt / J.Crew Pants / Enzo Angiolini Shoes / J.Crew Link Bracelet / H&M Buckle Bangle (similar) / J.Crew Bracelet (similar) / Bauble Bar Necklace (similar) / J.Crew Necklace (similar) / Forever 21 Ring (similar)

If you didn’t see on Twitter, I got to meet the girl behind one of my favorite blogs… Rachel from The Pink Peonies!

PS – Thank you for taking my pictures, Sarah!

Aww, you looked so cute – don’t worry about it! We all had wrinkled clothes and messy hair by the end of that day – it was a marathon!! Can’t wait to see the other ways you style these beauties :)

Definitely a marathon!! I’ll be wearing them again soon!

I think you are being too hard on yourself (but I totally understand how that goes!) – this outfit looks fabulous, and I love the chambray with those pants!! They are so special and beautiful, and I don’t blame you for repeating those fabulous shoes! I would love to go to IFB and Lucky FABB next year – I hope I’ll look as cute as you did!

Aww, I love Rachel! I think your outfit looks great, but I know the frustration of having an outfit in mind and it not working out!

I gotta say, I don’t love the way those pants look on you. I don’t know if its just because you’re obviously uncomfortable/unhappy with the look, but I just don’t think they are very flattering. Can’t wait to see how they will look in different combinations!

Keep up the great work!

I thought you looked very comfortable but still stylish. I hate when an outfit doesn’t come together like I want it to but I think you did well.
