Shades of Grey

I didn’t really mean to have a monochromatic outfit yesterday, it just kind of happened. It started with the sweater. Then I added my grey hacking jacket to match. Instead of throwing on a pair of indigo jeans, I chose my grey pair. Then when debating which shoes, I was between my pair of cognac wedge booties or this grey suede wedge. I decided to go stick with the greyscale palette.

Herringbone Jacket: J.Crew
Camel/Charcoal Stripe Sweater: J.Crew
Grey Denim: Loft (similar)
Grey Suede Wedges: Me Too
Necklace: J.Crew (similar)
Bracelet: Express

It’s so weird… I LOVED this outfit in person. Don’t love it as much in the pictures, but I’m not really sure why. Fellow bloggers– Does that ever happen to you??

I like this one! Sometimes I feel the same way – outfit looks good in person, people compliment it, but when I see the photos I feel ‘blah’ about it. Funny huh?! 😉

It happens to me all the time and it’s so frustrating. I want to share my outfits with all of you and it just looks blah!

If it makes you feel better, I think the outfit is adorable in these pictures! But, yes – I know what you mean…I will think an outfit is amazing and then look at the photos after our shoot and think, “this isn’t as exciting as I’d hoped”. It happens to all of us 🙂

I think you look amazing! And it happens to me as well that the outfits don’t look as good on the photos as they did in realty 🙂

I like your monochromatic look! I think the pictures look good so if it looks better in person than it really must be a great outfit. Although most of your pieces are the same color, I think the layering and jewelry help to make it more than a blah look.

Thanks Amber! I’m starting to think that it was the grey sidewalk throwing things off for me in the picture…

Cute! Very smart look! I LOVE grey…I guess it is my black! The two purchases from my trip to Chicago were both different shades of charcoal/grey…surprise…surprise to anyone who knows me… 🙂

Black used to be my go-to, but I’ve really been gravitating towards grey and camel lately. Grey is just so versatile. Black can look overly constrast-y with certain colors, but grey almost always works!
