Crazy Cat Lady

So, I had one of those “omfg-i-look-like-a-crazy-cat-lady” moments a couple of days ago when I was wearing this outfit. I was standing at the registers in J.Crew on Michigan Ave. pulling out my wallet to pay while texting simultaneously and kind of froze when I realized it.

I was wearing a leopard shirt. My iPhone cover is leopard. My wallet is leopard. I was buying a leopard umbrella… and a leopard scarf. Four of these five items are from J.Crew so I blame them for my recent leopard infatuation influx. Don’t get me wrong, I think leopard is a fabulous neutral that goes with everything. I’m the biggest proponent of leopard in moderation! But how much is too much? Granted, two of these items were in my purse, two of these items were in my shopping bag, and just one was on my body, but still. When they were all out on the counter, I was a little embarrassed.

Shirt: J.Crew
Blazer: Silence & Noise (similar)
Jeans: Paige
Flats: Tory Burch
Watch: Michael Kors (similar face) (similar band)
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC

Anytime I find a great piece of leopard print, I usually buy it. So I’m kind of drowning in leopard print as of late. (I’m kind of the same way about the color orange, but that’s another story.) How do you balance your obsessions with a color or print without going overboard? I’d love to hear your strategies! (Extra points if you tell me you’re a “crazy-cat-lady,” too!) 🙂

*Note: I don’t have a cat. I just like my leopard.

I’m totally a “crazy cat lady”… Leopard print flats, wedge heels,2 shirts, scarf, umbrella, and wallet. I have been going back and forth about a huge leopard print bag!!! I went a little crazy also!! I can never say NO!! However I never wear them all together so that’s how I balance my craziness!! And you look adorable like ALWaYS!!

But don’t get me wrong, I wear sweatpants ALL the time around the house. (I might be wearing them right now. Don’t tell anyone!)

      Miss you! xoxo

I definitely have my share of leopard print but the way to make sure you get plenty of use of it all but not too much at once is to pick one piece and work around it. Like the outfit in the picture for example. You can’t see all of the other leopard items so it’s okay but if you were to pull them all out it would look a little ridic. If you want to wear a leopard scarf, wear a solid color top with jeans or skirt. I am a crazy cat lady at times…I had to learn this 🙂

LOL I’m glad we’re on the same page here! One piece, maybe two if it’s done well, is all you need at a time. 🙂

If this is what a ‘crazy cat lady’ looks like, I want to be one too! Love this look and your story is hilarious! At least you weren’t wearing all of the items at the same time, that would be much much worse. I am on a leopard kick lately and my hubby actually told me I might be going a little overboard on the leopard (I told him I might have to divorce him! LOL). Don’t worry about being a crazy cat lady, I’m sure a lot of us will be right there with you!

I am a total crazy cat lady and I have been since I was 15. I have the pics to prove it. i say there is never too much print unless you are wearing them all at the same time. You look darling, your story made me laugh since the same scenario has happened to me more than twice (with multiple people saying, “WOW…you REALLY like leopard.. WHy yes, yes i do!) and you are buying what you love so own it 😉

P.S. I have the J. Crew leopard phone case too! LOVE!
