#IFBCon (NYC Pt. 5)

I was pretty nervous on the way to the Fall 2011 IFB Conference. I had never been to a blogger conference before and I was a little bit intimidated. I opened the cab door, took a big gulp, and marched over to the line outside of Milk Studios. I can’t remember what we started talking about, but Sonia, Carrie, Lindsay, Nike, and I struck up a conversation that didn’t end until we went our separate ways that evening. I’m so glad I met these girls and got to hang out with them all day! They’re awesome!

Once we got inside, we checked in and took a look around the sponsor booths. We were lucky enough to get seats in the 4th row, but I think we deserved it after standing in the rainy mist for over 30 minutes. 🙂

ALDO was a sponsor for this year’s conference. I played their game of roulette and won a card for 10% of my next purchase!

Meet Marina, the giant doll that was promoting Missoni for Target. Marina was tweeting on her giant iPhone and snapping pictures throughout the first half of the conference. Kinda cool, kinda creepy.

The first panel was Bloggers Tool Kit featuring Leandra Medine (Man Repeller), Vahni Georgoulakos (Grit and Glamour), Sammy Davis (Sammy Davis Vintage), Erica Chan Coffman and Lauren Kolodny (Honestly WTF), and Alisa Gould Simon (Pose.com).
I really enjoyed listening to the Man Repeller herself! Love, love, love her.

Like I mentioned in this post, I was SO EXCITED to get to meet Kristina from Pretty Shiny Sparkly. She was on the third panel, Business & Blogging, which was my favorite panel overall! Kristina was joined on the panel by Coco Rocha (Oh So Coco) (BTW- I developed a huge girl crush on her! I need her cheekbones.), Annie Tomlin (BellaSugar), Aimee Song (Song of Style), Natalie Suarez (Natalie off Duty), and the Ari Goldberg (CEO of StyleCaster). Overall, just an absolutely amazing panel about the business side of blogging! Having majored in economics/financial planning, I really enjoyed hearing the opinions of the extremely talented panelist line-up and took a lot away from it. I think I took more notes during that panel than I did my entire senior year of college. (Just kidding. Kind of.) 🙂

The conference commenced with a keynote speaker. Just the Joe Zee himself, no big deal. Mr. Joe Zee was interviewed by Tina Craig of BagSnob. I was totally star-struck, that’s for sure!
I was able to get a picture with Tina after she was off stage! Please excuse my I’ve-been-up-for-13-hours-and-I’m-totally-exhausted appearance.

Here are some pictures with my new blogger friends! 🙂

I wish I could pull off leather leggings of some sort, but they don’t work on my legs! I want a leather piece that transitions a little better into the cooler temperatures.
