I-L-L-I-N-I

I was born bleeding orange and blue. In fact, I didn’t even apply to another school. My dad went to U of I for both undergrad and veterinary school. My parents have had season tickets to basketball and football games for twenty-something years. At home, our TV and game rooms are decorated solely with Illini memorabilia. I’ll show you pictures sometime. It was Illinois or bust I guess. I actually remember visiting Purdue’s campus in 6th grade and coming home and telling my mom that I think it would be cool to go there. Her response was something along the lines of, “You want to be a Boilermaker?!? Good luck getting your father to pay for that.”

I LOVE college football. It’s my favorite time of the year. Saturday was the first college football gameday of the season and I was having a bit of a moment because it was my first game as an alum. I had tears in my eyes at one point because I wasn’t in Champaign. I wasn’t expecting it to hit me as hard as it did. We found a great Illini bar a couple of blocks from my apartment so it ended up being a good day! 🙂

I wore this outfit to do some shopping on North Avenue on Saturday before the game and then out to cheer on my Illini! My mom always tells me that I’m wearing the wrong color orange when I wear this shirt, which I realize, but I’ve got to try and look semi-stylish while showing my school pride. 🙂

Shirt: J.Crew
Shorts: J.Crew
Belt: Akira (similar)
Shoes: Sperry Top-Sider
Bag: Michael Kors (similar)
Watch: Michael Kors
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban (similar)
Nails: OPI Lincoln Park After Dark

How amazing are these sunglasses?? I saw them and knew they would be perfect for games! There is a gravitational force that draws me to anything orange or orange+blue. I guess it’s in the genes.

Jessica I like that you wore the team’s colors without donning a baggy jersey or T. The outfit is practical while still being chic.

This is such a cute look. Outfits like these make me realise a girl doesn’t always have to be rocking sky scraper heels and tight clothes to look stunning. I particularly like the shoes 🙂 you look lovely, a big thumbs up from England

    Lots of love
