Maxi Mania

I’ve heard that it was Oscar de La Renta who created one of the first maxi dresses in the late 1960s. I think Mr. de La Renta deserves a big pat on the back for that one! Maxi dresses are casual, but chic, and insanely comfortable. I can’t get enough of them! They’re perfect for traveling, heading to the beach, and hot summer days. Up until this spring I had kept my maxi dress collection to solid colors, but now I’m longing for maxis in bright patterns and bold prints!

I wore this outfit to work and then to the Cheeky Chicago Suite 7D party featuring Seven Daughters Wine. There were free samples of Seven Daughters Red, White, and Moscato. My favorite was the Moscato! I am a total sucker for sweet wine.

I’d had a long day at work and was exhausted by the time we got home to take pictures. The party was HOT so my hair was a frizzy mess when I left. I was having one of those days where I hate how I look in every.single.photo. Don’t you hate when that happens?

I got so many compliments on this dress at work. Everyone was quite surprised when I told them I got it for $25 at Forever 21!
