I can’t tell you how excited I am for Pretty Shiny Sparkly‘s Bloggers Do It Better “assignment” series. I tend to play it safe with colors so I was anxious to try to break out of my comfort zone with the first assignment, Colorblocking or Bold Colorful Stripes.
I started out looking for bright or neon colors to work into my outfit for this post, but I couldn’t find much of anything I liked this past weekend at the mall. (I despise shopping trips where I can’t find what I’m looking for.) I’ve see so many adorable neon accessories lately, but couldn’t find any in my price range this past weekend. I didn’t want to look like neon trash so I decided to use pastels.
Sweater & Shorts: Banana Republic
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Shoes: Sperry Top-Sider
Necklace: Forever 21
Watch: Michael Kors
I got my inspiration for the colors in this outfit from the cute cupcake trinket holder I purchased on eBay last week. The color palette reminds me of a muted Lily Pulitzer print. I’m not exactly sure what the purpose of this little guy will be yet, but I just had to have it.
Here’s another one of the cupcake…
Check out all of the other looks for the first assignment!

I think the cupcake is to store inside jewelry (as much as it can hold) ๐
